Giving to Mission Shawnee

Mission Shawnee is a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All gifts made to Mission Shawnee, whether money or property, are tax deductible and will be properly acknowledged.

This ministry will launch on June 5, but is already assisting families with emergency needs such as rent assistance.

Please take a moment to review the lists of needs to the right and below. The lists will be constantly changing as this ministry grows.

Financial Gifts
 are needed for

  1. Shepherd's Kids Cafe
    The cost of feeding one child for the summer is approximately $50. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to enable us to feed more than 200 children.
  2. Ongoing social services!
    Each day, dozens of individuals in need contact the Mission Shawnee office seeking help. We are not a "handout" agency. Rather, we attempt to do three things when people come in:
    • Get the big picture of that individual's situation, and seek to move them into a direction of self-help.
    • Pray with and for the individual, and explore spiritual needs. This has led to some exciting opportunities for sharing Christ!
    • Do everything possible to meet that immediate need.
  3. Support for operational expenses. The cost of operating our new building, insurance, utilities, and salaries.

Gifts of Real Property
Some current needs

  1. Refrigerators and freezers and other small and large household items -- new or used, commercial or residential, but in good working order
  2. Vehicles: Box van (truck) for deliveries or carrying large grocery items.
  3. Gifts of food for distribution through food pantry
